| Description of Renovation | In a continued quest to keep Sandals the very best, they have embarked on the building of a luxurious Mediterranean Village which will set new standards and draw even more affluent travels to Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa.
The new phase will consist of 180 lavish suites decorated in Mediterranean style and two additional restaurants. The highlight of the village will be the largest pool in the Eastern Caribbean, with the Sandals signature swim-up pool bar, tented poolside cabanas and a whirlpool.
Work has started on this amazing project which is adjacent to the existing resort and where possible has been screened from view. The work will continue until June 2007 when the new resort will be revealed. Some machinery is being used however very little noise disturbance due to the location of the work is expected. Where possible the hotel will allocate all rooms away from the building work taking place. Please note, that during this time all facilities and amenities of the resort will continue to operate as usual.
Effective May 1, 2006, all Sandals resorts became non-smoking in any enclosed areas.
Examples are bars, restaurants, lobbies, conference facilities, retail facilities and nightclubs.
Smoking will be permitted in all open areas and designated rooms.
In an effort to heighten guest satisfaction and increase guest convenience, Sandal Resorts will cease to accept cash for incidental charges at all resort outlets, effective immediately. Upon check in guests will be asked for a credit card to be used for the purchase of optional services from the resort outlets. All charges will be billed to their room. Cash will not be accepted at any of the revenue outlets.
**In the event that a credit card is unavailable, a cash deposit needs to be left at the Front Desk/Concierge. Travelers Cheques will be treated like cash and therefore can only be used at the front desk. Credit cards will be accepted at all major revenue outlets. | |
